Rio 2016: IOC panel to have final say on Russian athletes’ participation

1xbet The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says a three-person panel will have the final say on which Russian athletes can compete at the Rio Games.
Last week the IOC said individual sports’ governing bodies must decide if Russian competitors are clean amid claims of state-sponsored doping.
But it now says the newly convened panel “will decide whether to accept or reject that final proposal”.
More than 250 Russian athletes have so far been cleared to compete.
The three-person panel comprises Ugur Erdener, president of World Archery and head of the IOC medical and scientific commission, Claudia Bokel of the IOC athletes commission, and Spanish IOC member Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr,1xbet son of the ex-IOC president of the same name.
How many Russians will compete in Rio? Russia doping ‘across Olympic sports’ Russia escapes blanket ban The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) had recommended all Russian athletes be banned after its independently commissioned report found evidence of a four-year “doping programme” across the “vast majority” of Olympic sports.
The IOC stopped short of applying a blanket ban in a move criticised by Wada and others, while swimmers Vladimir Morozov and Nikita Lobintsev have become the first Russian athletes to appeal against their ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Olympics start in Rio on Friday.
IOC stands by Stepanova decision
Meanwhile, Russian whistleblower Yulia Stepanova has asked again for the IOC to reassess her exclusion from Rio.
The 800m runner’s testimony helped shed light on the scale of doping in Russian sport,1xbet and she was to compete under a neutral flag in Rio.
But the IOC ruled that she should not be allowed to take part as she had previously failed a doping test.
In a letter to the IOC on Saturday, Stepanova and her husband Vitaly asked the body to “reassess the decision on Yulia”.
The IOC responded by saying it had rejected any review of her case and had not discussed the matter at its executive board meeting.
“The final decision has been taken already,” IOC spokesman Mark Adams said.

Design Elements to Consider When Creating Your Next Sign or Advertisement

According to Walker-Smith, the average person encounters around 5,000 advertisements a day. That’s crazy! With such large amounts of advertising bombarding our vision, it’s important for companies to make themselves stick out from the crowd. Here are a few tips and pointers on how to design the best signs and advertisements for your company.

Color: Did you know that there are a variety of studies that have been conducted on how certain colors effect peoples moods and shopping trends? In general you want to choose colors that correlate with your business. For example, yellow is often considered a calming, soft color so being a personal trainer you probably don’t want to go with this color, you want something strong and empowering such as red. Also, be sure to use colors that contrast well. Putting dark blue text on a light blue background may make the text difficult to read, if you’re going to go with a monochrome color scheme consider using white outlines on text in order to make it pop. While you want your colors to stick out, you don’t want to overwhelm the viewer’s eyes. Using too many colors or ones that clash may make the sign difficult to read.

Text: Most companies default on block text in a solid color, this makes you blend in with the rest! Be sure to choose a font that is easy to read, yet has a little character to it. Going back to the personal trainer example, you’re not going to want to use a fancy free flowing script, that just doesn’t go! You’d be better off with something bold and strong, clean cut looking.

The amount of text you include on a sign should be limited as well. You don’t need your name, email, phone number, address, blood type, birthday and everything else on your sign. Keep it simple with your business name or logo, basic contact info and possible a short slogan. This leads in to my next point of less is more.

The whole point of creating a sign is to draw in customers. Now think about this, if you are in the market for a new tv and you see a sign for a huge TV sale, 50% off select models, you’re going to be intrigued and go in the store to see if they have what you want. This gives the business an opportunity to sell you something you may not have originally thought you wanted. On the other hand, if the sign listed all the televisions available, prices, discounts, features, pretty much anything, you’d have no need to go into the store unless they had exactly what you were looking for. You have no need to acquire further information.

Finally Images/Graphics: Graphics are a great way to grab customers attention. Whether it’s just a logo or clipart, be sure to use a high quality image. Most print companies will notify you if your image size is insufficient, but a small picture can result in a pix-elated mess once it is blown up to fit your sign. Similar to color and text, don’t overwhelm the viewer. Keep images simple and relevant. You don’t need to show off all your products/services, just highlight the best sellers or ones you’re trying to muster up business for.

Take all these tips and pointers into consideration and you’ll be sure to end up with a great sign that’ll bring in customers for years to come!

Vinyl Lettering Application Tips

When installing vinyl decals there are a few things you want to do to make sure your decal will adhere properly and be bubble free.

Before starting the installation process, be sure to clean the surface you plan on placing the decal on. You can use things like window cleaner, but for best results we suggest a 2 to 1 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wait until the surface is completely dry before proceeding. Also for best adhesion, be sure to work in an area that is above 55 degrees Fahrenheit as the colder temperatures will affect the adhesive.

You’ll also need a few items to help with the install

– Pencil (water soluble is best but regular will do)

– Tape

– Application fluid (or soapy water if you can’t find any)

– Squeegee

– Heat gun or hair dryer (only if you have MAJOR bubbles)

Now you’re ready to install!

1. Mark out the space you want to apply the decal to. Be sure to use a light pencil mark or even water soluble pencil so that you can easily remove the marks ( you can find them at most hardware stores). By marking out these details, you get a level placement area and have a more precise install. Once you’ve made your marks, tape the right corner of your decal (paper and all) within the marked space.

2. Once you have the decal where you want spray the surface under the decal with application fluid, if you do not have any you can also use a soapy water mixture. (DISCLAIMER: if you are using a reflective vinyl DO NOT use any liquid on the surface, these must be installed on a dry surface). While your decal is attached with the tape, carefully remove the backing paper. The decal sure remain secured to the application tape. Now take your squeegee and apply the decal to the surface by applying pressure with even strokes. Start in the middle and work your way out to the left then right. Once you’ve gone over it a few times be sure to check for any wrinkles.

3. Wait a few minutes for the decal to dry and then remove the application tape. This prevents it from taking the decal with it. Once you remove the tape, squeegee the surface again in order to assure proper adhesion.

4. Small bubbles are common, they will eventually find their way out. However, if you have large bubbles you can eliminate them by carefully using a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the surface and puncturing them with a needle or apply pressure with your thumb. Be patient with the material, you can actually do more harm than good trying to fight the smaller bubbles, give it a day or 2 to breathe and for the liquid to complete dry before trying again.

Hope these tips help and you enjoy your new decal!
